What an awesome word for the New Year! I am going to embrace this message with everything within me because it reminds me of the question that a Life Coach would ask. "If you could do/be anything, what would you do/be?" That question means that every distraction has been eliminated; you don't have to think or worry about money, time, or any of the other constraints that sabotage your life plans and dreams. You are free to let your imagination soar! There is nothing that you can't say when you answer this question. You give yourself permission to be free enough to put into words and to write down the desires of your heart! No limits! That is how I feel about the word for the New Year. God has said if we do our part, He will do His!

I've had a couple occasions already to test this out and rather than be concerned, I loudly proclaimed "2011 a year when everything is going to be alright!" I felt so good afterwards that I just wanted to dance! The funny thing is that after that everything worked out.

I admit, there were some portions of the New Years Eve message where the congregation became very quiet and still (that usually happens when people become uncomfortable), but looking over my notes the strategy given was clear and simple:

• Don't be afraid,

• Stay in the Word,

• Stand on the Word

• Don't feed fear into your life or mouth

• Fight the good fight of faith

• Walk in love

• Forget about what you want or think you need, and put God first.

For me, I admit, I view everything through the lens of purpose, identity and destiny. I want to be everything that God wants me to be and because of that my positional strategy is to be:

1. Aware of my past

2. Fully engaged in my present

3. My eye on my future.

4. Always Kingdom minded

5. Positioned in Christ

Things in the world may get worse but we have a promise from God and I'm excited about this New Year! Maranatha!

This is a great video about how emotions must be tamed by the knowledge of the Word of God! This is so true! Don't make decisions based on emotions alone. Check the situation out in the Word and pray first. That's why it is important to meditate on the Word so that it is already in you. Sometimes decisions must be made quickly and there is not a lot of time to decide. Rule #1: Don't be pressured into anything. Rule#2 Never make a decision that you don't have peace about.

From the first time that I saw the Fresh Prince of Belair, I enjoyed watching Will Smith at his craft, he has since gone on to make many wonderful movies. I don't know what his beliefs are, is he a Christian, I don't know. I've heard rumors about he and his wife and their philosophy but these are only rumors (I never repeat rumors). What I do realize is that Will seems to understand a great deal about biblical principles whether he realizes that they are biblical priciples or not! His goal is to make a difference and he seems to be doing that. He is focused on his goals and pursuing them with all his might while remaing in the present moment and enjoying his life. I'm sure that he has had some challenges but that's not what he is focused on! Will if you're out there and this post comes across your path, I would ask you one question, have you made Jesus Christ your personal Lord and Savior? I love you Will! Keep the good movies coming!

The Book of Eli: My Opinion

Seldom do I sit through a complete film Now days, most films don't hold my attention. Lately I have been surprised by a couple of films that did. I like adventure and intrique. I also must confess that I'm not squeamish about violence. A film that had all of the neccessary ingredients to hold my attention was The Book of Eli. The story is fiction but the subject is one that most people in our society shy away from, they either dismiss it or embrace it, the story is centered around the bible! I know that some people won't like the movie for various reasons but I enjoyed it so much that I've watched it several times and have had some stimulating discussions around it. Denzel Washington and all of the other actors do a supperb job in this film. I'm no professional film critic, I'm a movie viewer who enjoys a good film when I can find one! 2009 The Shining Through of the Glory of God

In a time when the news media continues to bombard us with sound bites of gloom and doom, the Word of the Lord is to expect “The Shining Through of the Glory of God.” What does that mean? It means the following: trust God to be anything and everything to you that you need Him to be in 2009! It also means to expect double for your trouble!

If you are a child of God (you have been born again-according to John 3:7 –“Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again” and Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”), this word is for you! Hallelujah!

Stay in His presence and He will be your provision (and your provider-Jehovah Jireh), honor, praise and worship Him and He will be your dignity! Keep Him first and He will bring the glory that brings promotion.

Yes, there are hard times ahead in the world but you “child of God” don’t live according to the world system! You live according to the Kingdom of God. This word is not a panacea; it requires that you cooperate with God by doing the following:

• Stay in position: continue to pray, tithe, attend church, support others, etc.
• Believe and receive the Word of God: follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
• Speak the Word only: don’t speak the circumstances no matter what you see.
• Act on the Word: match your actions to the word like it’s already done.
• Walk in forgiveness and love: show mercy.
• Live a holy life: live close to God’s instructions to receive grace and favor.

If things seem to get worse, don’t mess up the set-up, don’t be like the ten who went to spy out the Promised Land but murmured and complained and did not believe what God had said. God told them that He had given them the land. They were afraid because of their own lack of confidence and formidable distractions (giants in the land). They did not consider the power of an Almighty God! They did not consider what God had already done, the miracles that He had preformed to bring them where they were, they forgot the God factor. Be like Caleb and Joshua who agreed with God (that they were well able to take the land! -Numbers 14). Remember, being with the wrong people may cause you delay, although Caleb and Joshua were right, they experienced forty years of wandering in the wilderness because of the who they were with. Make sure that your companions are people of like precious faith. Don’t mess up the set-up by murmuring and complaining, it may look like you are going down but God’s intention is to bring you into the promise land! Stay close to God and speak the Word only, not the circumstances or what you see.

Remember Job experienced nine months of adversity and Joseph experienced thirteen years but each of them received double for their trouble and they were Old Covenant (Testament) believers, we are New Covenant (Testament) believers with a better covenant! We are covered by the blood of Jesus! We can speak to the mountain! I’m excited and full of expectation for “The Shining Through of the Glory of God and Double for My Trouble in 2009.” God bless you and Happy New Year!
